A responsible future
Our ambition is to manufacture products with as little impact on the environment as possible. We continuously strive to make environmental improvements in the production of our products as well as the logistical processes involved in delivering BoConcept products to our customers, thereby making sure that the effects of our business leaves the smallest footprint on the global environment as possible.
CSR policy
The Boconcept CSR policy is divided into the following focus areas: environmentally friendly and safe production. We strive to be sustainable at our own production facility and at our sub suppliers; as well as reduce C02 emissions related to transportation and logistics.
Environmental
95% of our furniture comes from Denmark and other parts of Europe and not from the Far East, which means that our carbon footprint is significantly lower.
Since January 2021, the entirety of BoConcept’s own production and office facilities in Denmark operate from 100% renewable energy from wind turbines, which has reduced CO₂ emissions significantly.
In the UK, we are CHAS and FORS accredited, acknowledging our commitment to safe, clean, and environmentally positive processes.
We have now achieved ISO certifications for 9001, 14001, 45001 with the British Assessment Bureau.
Collaboration with the British Heart Foundation
We work with charities such as the “British Heart Foundation” and “Too Good to Waste,” that focus on reusing and recycling furniture.
Giving furniture a new lease of life
By recycling old furniture, we can create a ripple effect of positive change which includes: supporting those in need, reducing landfill waste, producing less unnecessary raw materials, creating less pollution, saving trees and emitting fewer greenhouse gasses.
This contributes towards positively dealing with global warming, making our organisation’s contribution to climate change just a bit smaller.
Corporate Social Responsibility
We aim to demonstrate our respect for customers by providing exceptional design and quality at a fair price, always mindful of not compromising on our principles. In 2009, BoConcept joined the UN Global Compact and adopted the BoConcept CSR policy, which forms the framework of our CSR initiative. Our priorities have been formed and are based on the UN Global Compact’s 10 principles relating to human rights, employee rights, respect for the environment, and a prohibition against corruption.
All BoConcept suppliers must follow a code of conduct in order to ensure that all of our products are manufactured in a manner that respects the rights of their employees. The purpose of the code of conduct is to ensure that BoConcept suppliers operate in accordance with internationally recognised standards on human rights, labour and the environment.
Some of the social policies in place include:
• Working environment, health, and safety
• Activity-Based Workspace Implementation
• Employee development and training
• Remote working and free wellbeing
• Equal opportunities and gender equality
